I don't usually leave reviews, but these were impressive

I don't usually leave reviews, but these were impressive. They are light weight, easy to put on, and offer phenomenal traction. I saw the tracks of other hikers ahead of me sliding on parts that I trudged right through with confidence. I carried these most of the way, and I actually picked up my pace after I hit the ice line at the final mile to the peak. Compared to my friends, these have longer spikes...but not so long you can't wear them in the mud or on rocks. It's a perfect compromise. I can't speak to durability, but they seem like they will last. THE SHORT OF IT: great quality, small and lightweight microspikes that will extend your hiking season by many months (especially if yore in the north east where I've rules the peaks from October to May) Side note: great traction in streams too

Trail Ultra: A must have for winter hiking!

I prefer hiking during late fall and winter so crampons are a must. I have recently crossed path with a couple that was raving about their Hillsound crampons, which I have never heard of. So I checked it out when I got back home and was impressed enough to order the Trail Ultra.

My first test was made in the worst possible conditions: frozen dirt, sheer ice, rocks and snow at the summit. A few days later in fresh snow... So?

Well, I am extremely happy with them!

I find that the spikes are long enough to give perfect tractions, without having to adapt your stride (rarely catching the ground). They are very well distributed under the foot so it remains stable regardless of the terrain. The crampons stay perfectly in place, are easy to put on/remove.

I think that they could ask for a lot more $$ than what they are currently priced at ;-)

The next thing that I would need to address is durability, but I feel like this may take some time before I can find any issue with them. The two year warranty is by itself, a statement of confidence made by the manufacturer toward the quality of their products!

In a nutshell, this is a very low cost investment that will greatly improve your hiking experience. :-)
